In the coming weeks, Ukraine will be visited by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He plans to discuss the potential deployment of international peacekeeping forces in Ukraine following the end of the war. This will be Starmer's first visit to Ukraine since he became Prime Minister, according to Bloomberg.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced Starmer's intention to visit Ukraine but did not specify when it would take place. Bloomberg sources indicate that this will happen in the coming weeks.

"This initiative was started by Emmanuel Macron. The British view it positively, but I will discuss it in detail with the Prime Minister during our meeting, which will take place. He will be in Ukraine, and we will talk," Zelensky told reporters Thursday evening.

Journalist sources claim that the day before, French President Emmanuel Macron discussed the potential for joint peacekeeping forces in Ukraine with Starmer during their meeting. The prospects for this option will depend on the nature of the peace agreement reached between Ukraine and Russia.

Peacekeepers in Ukraine: Latest News

As reported by UNIAN, the idea of deploying Western peacekeepers has been actively discussed in the West over the past few weeks. This option particularly includes the "Kellogg Plan," proposed by Trump's advisor on Ukraine.

Former US Ambassador to Ukraine John Herbst is convinced that Western peacekeepers could indeed appear along the line of demarcation as early as this fall. In his opinion, Trump has leverage to pressure Putin to consider this option.
