The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a conversation with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte. He shared this on his social media page on X (Twitter).

"An important discussion about a just end to the war and strengthening unity in Europe. The Netherlands shares our position: nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine, nothing about Europe without Europe.

We are united in understanding the necessity to enhance our military strength as a guarantee of security for Ukraine and all of Europe," Zelensky wrote.

He also expressed gratitude to the Netherlands for all the assistance provided and for their readiness to continue and increase support for Ukraine.

"This is crucial for the stability of all of Europe. We expect the continuation of F-16 deliveries this year. The sky over Ukraine must be closed and safe. Thank you for your support," Zelensky added.

The Ukrainian leader did not specify when the deliveries would occur or in what volumes.

F-16 in Ukraine: What We Know

At the beginning of February, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced that Ukraine had received another batch of Western F-16 fighter jets from the Netherlands. At the same time, Kyiv received French Mirage 2000 fighter jets from its partners.

Meanwhile, a new photo of a Western F-16 fighter jet in the skies over Ukraine surfaced online. The aircraft was notably equipped with two AIM-120B/C AMRAAM medium-range air-to-air missiles, two AIM-9X Sidewinder short-range air-to-air missiles, and eight GBU-39/B SDB guided bombs.
