On the night of January 14, Ukrainian military forces launched a massive strike on military targets within Russia—specifically in the Saratov, Bryansk, and Tula regions, as well as in the Republic of Tatarstan. These locations were situated at distances ranging from 200 to 1100 kilometers.
As a result, a fuel storage facility in Engels was once again hit, where a five-day fire had just been extinguished following a previous attack.
"The fire has been successfully restored by the drone units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Main Intelligence Directorate," stated the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a Telegram message.
Additionally, a strategic object of the Russian military-industrial complex was targeted—the Bryansk Chemical Plant, where it is reported that munitions for artillery, multiple rocket launch systems, aviation, and components for cruise missiles "Kh-59" are manufactured. According to the General Staff, a "secondary detonation" lasting several hours was observed on the plant's premises.
"Furthermore, two enemy anti-aircraft missile systems—'Tor' and 'Buk'—were destroyed during the attack," the publication states.
Moreover, units of the GUR and SBU also struck the Saratov Oil Refinery and the Kazanorgsintez plant.
What else is known about the strikes on Russian targets
Earlier, UNIAN reported that Russia might face challenges after the strike on the highly specialized T-8 V fuel for Russian strategic bombers Tu-160 in Engels. "Its production and the volumes available in the Russian Federation, considering the needs, are insignificant," said an expert.
In addition, the Armed Forces of Ukraine previously carried out a massive attack on Crimea using drones. Traffic on the Crimean Bridge was halted as a result. However, it has not been disclosed which targets were struck.
