Decoded entries from the trophy notebook of a North Korean soldier eliminated in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation have revealed new details about the tactics employed by the DPRK military. It was discovered that they received instructions on how to catch Ukrainian drones "using a live bait."
This information was shared by the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine.
It is noted that the eliminated private, Heng Hong Jong, belonged to a special forces unit. In his notebook, he detailed the tactics for shooting down UAVs and hiding from Ukrainian artillery.
The Special Operations Forces indicated that the tactic against Ukrainian drones involves using a live bait. The soldier even visually illustrated how this should be done.
After decoding the notes, it was revealed that the DPRK military employs three individuals upon detecting a drone, one of whom acts as the live bait and maintains a distance of 7 meters. The other two soldiers fire at the UAV from a distance of 10 to 12 meters.
The notes state that if the live bait stops, the drone will also cease movement. According to the plan, at that moment, the other soldiers will be able to destroy the UAV.
Additionally, the Special Operations Forces decoded notes on how DPRK troops leave the areas under fire from Ukrainian artillery. Heng Hong Jong wrote in his notebook that in such cases, soldiers need to designate a new gathering point and disperse into small groups to exit the danger zone.
Furthermore, the DPRK forces were informed of a second method to exit the artillery fire zone. Soldiers are advised to take cover at the site of the previous strike and then move out of the danger area. This is explained by the fact that artillery will not fire at the same spot, as emphasized by the Special Operations Forces.
