Украина стала еще ближе к ЕС / фото ua.depositphotos.com

Ukraine has completed all the steps that were previously unmet and outlined in the European Commission's 2022 report, according to an updated EU enlargement report from "Radio Free Europe".

"Ukraine has continued to promote integrity and merit in its judicial system, strengthen its anti-corruption institutional framework, and enhance enforcement outcomes in high-level corruption cases," the report states.

Additionally, Ukraine's efforts regarding the rights of national minorities have been positively noted as a separate point. This was particularly emphasized by the Hungarian government. The European Commission states that Ukraine "has revised its legislation on the protection of the rights of persons belonging to national minorities."

"Restrictions on fundamental rights related to the state of war remain generally proportional," the report indicates. However, further work is needed on the continued implementation of the updated legislation concerning minority rights.

It is also mentioned that "further efforts" are still required in such processes, despite progress in fundamental reforms. The report specifically addresses the need to establish reliable law enforcement practices concerning high-level corruption cases and the fight against organized crime, as well as the necessity to improve reforms in decentralization and governance.

If Ukraine meets all the conditions, the European Commission anticipates the opening of negotiations on negotiation chapters, starting from the fundamentals, in 2025.

According to the information contained in the report, "the screening of Ukrainian legislation is progressing smoothly."
