There are no grounds to hope that the war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine will conclude in the coming months. This statement was made by member of the Ukrainian Parliament, Fedor Venislavsky, who serves on the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for national security, defense, and intelligence.
"People who believe in the omnipotent power of U.S. President Donald Trump, thinking he will come and wave his hand to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine, do not understand the purpose of mobilization if combat operations are to be halted. As of now, it is not possible to talk about a cessation of hostilities," he emphasized in an interview with UNIAN.
Venislavsky added that such reflections and public statements harm the interests of national security and the defense capability of Ukraine, as they create "a certain nervousness and uncertainty."
"As someone who has a bit more information from closed sources, I see no reason to hope that the war will end in the next few months. The war will definitely not conclude within a few months. Mobilization is proceeding as planned, and there will be no leniency on these matters. Initiatives to enlist those aged 18-25 only confirm that we need reinforcements in the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the deputy continued.
However, he noted that there are grounds to hope that the war could be concluded "within a not very long period of time."
