The Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, currently rules out the possibility of deploying German troops to Ukraine. This information was reported by Spiegel.

According to the politician, "as long as the war rages on, there will be no soldiers from Germany or German ground forces in Ukraine."

"After this period, discussions should focus on security guarantees that are still being negotiated, ensuring that Ukraine is confident that Russia will not attack it for a third time after 2014 and 2022. The nature of these guarantees will be discussed with Ukraine," Scholz stated.

He also reiterated his refusal to supply Ukraine with Taurus cruise missiles, while emphasizing that Germany "is undoubtedly the biggest supporter of Ukraine in Europe":

"It is crucial that the killings cease as soon as possible and that Ukraine's independence and sovereignty remain guaranteed."

As reported by UNIAN, recently Chancellor Scholz stated during a speech in the Bundestag that Ukrainians in Germany need to either find work or return home. He emphasized that most Ukrainians in Germany have been there for quite some time.

Previously, after his visit to Kyiv, Scholz delivered a "message" to Putin. The German Chancellor publicly declared that Germany's support for Ukraine will continue.
