On January 27, a continuation of the preparatory hearing took place in Dnipro regarding the case of the people's deputy Nikolai Tishchenko and former member of the special unit "Kraken," Dmitry Mazokha. The politician's preventive measure was revised, and he was placed under two months of round-the-clock house arrest. This was reported by "Suspilne."

According to journalists, Tishchenko participated in the hearing via video link. Another defendant, former police officer Bohdan Pysarenko, also attended the court.

"Prosecutor Ivan Stolyar submitted a motion for the court to issue a summons for Tishchenko to attend the hearing in person. This means the people's deputy must appear in court personally. The deputy's lawyer opposed the motion, stating that by the ruling of the Pechersk District Court in Kyiv, Tishchenko was under house arrest and therefore could not appear in court in person. He also had valid reasons for not attending the court hearings. The judge did not grant the prosecutor's motion," the report noted.

Additionally, the prosecutor requested to revise Tishchenko's preventive measure, specifically to impose round-the-clock house arrest, citing risks that he might evade law enforcement and threaten witnesses. The judge approved the revision of the preventive measure and imposed two months of house arrest.

What is known about the Tishchenko case

Recall that, according to the materials from the State Bureau of Investigations, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported suspicions against people's deputy Nikolai Tishchenko regarding the illegal deprivation of liberty of a former serviceman in Dnipro. This became known on June 25, 2024.

In particular, a video circulated on social media showing individuals in khaki clothing and balaclavas detaining a man in civilian clothes. According to the police, the man in civilian clothes was held and sustained bodily injuries. Furthermore, a video emerged showing the beginning of the conflict, in which the people's deputy Nikolai Tishchenko was present.

According to social media reports, the man in civilian clothes turned out to be Dmitry Mazokha, who served in the Kraken special unit of the Ministry of Defense's Main Intelligence Directorate. Later, the Telegram channel of the unit confirmed that their former serviceman was injured as a result of the confrontation.

At the same time, on his Facebook page, Nikolai Tishchenko published a video stating that "during the searches of fraudulent bot farms, an attack was carried out on police representatives: they sustained moderate bodily injuries and a body camera was broken."

It was also reported that back in December of last year, Tishchenko did not appear in court in Dnipro. According to the prosecutor, the reason for this was the deputy's visit to a medical facility in Kyiv, where he was preliminarily diagnosed with ischemic heart disease.
