On Friday, February 14, representatives from the United States, Ukraine, and Russia will meet in Munich. This was announced to journalists by American President Donald Trump.
"We have a meeting tomorrow in Munich (with Russia). Russia will be there with our people. Ukraine has also been invited. I don't know exactly who will represent each country. But there are high-ranking officials from Russia, Ukraine, and the USA," – he said.
It is worth noting that from February 14-16, a security conference will take place in Munich. Russia has not attended the event since 2022, when it began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. There are no mentions of the presence of Russian representatives on the official conference website.
The Ukrainian authorities have also not reported on such a meeting. It is known that during the Munich Security Conference, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance are scheduled to meet.
Recent Statements by Donald Trump
Trump, commenting on his conversation with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, stated that he believes in the Kremlin leader's desire to end the full-scale war against Ukraine. According to the American president, Putin would tell him if that were not the case.
Additionally, Trump mentioned that he would "happily" welcome Russia back into the G7. In his view, the decision to exclude the aggressor country from the G7 was a mistake.
