The German Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius did not discuss the deployment of a European military contingent in Ukraine during his visit to Kyiv, and even if he had, he would not have disclosed it.
He stated this during a conversation with journalists, as reported by Ukrinform. The federal defense minister emphasized that this matter pertains to negotiations between Ukraine, the Russian Federation, and other countries:
"We did not discuss this today because now is not the time... It would not be very wise to talk about our positions in advance. We are considering all options, but we are not discussing them."
Pistorius's Visit to Ukraine
Recall that the news of the German defense minister's visit to Kyiv became known on the morning of January 14. He mentioned that he wanted to demonstrate that Germany continues to assist Ukraine.
In the evening, President Volodymyr Zelensky shared that he had met with him. The politicians discussed Ukraine's air defense, the training and support of its soldiers, as well as investments in the Ukrainian defense industry.
