The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense reported on the extent of damage inflicted by Ukrainian drones on facilities within the territory of the Russian Federation.
In an interview published on the YouTube channel of the Center for Counteracting Disinformation, GUR representative Andriy Yusov stated that "something is regularly burning" for the Russians. "Somewhere it's oil refineries, somewhere it's distilleries, somewhere else," Yusov noted.
He added that the strikes by Ukrainian drones are affecting the Russian Federation. "There are statistics, open data. One-third of production is damaged to some extent," Yusov detailed.
The GUR representative pointed out that the Russians consistently face significant challenges in recovery, as it involves imported equipment. "Given the sanctions, there are major issues with the supply of this equipment. And these are not devices that can be smuggled in or brought in illegally. So yes, it poses problems for the enemy," he emphasized.
Yusov stressed that the targets are not civilian facilities. "When we talk about oil refineries, these are the very refineries that fuel enemy equipment, tanks, aircraft, and everything that shoots and launches missiles towards Ukraine. These are the same refineries that sell petroleum products and finance Russian military aggression against Ukraine," said the GUR representative.
Strikes on the Russian Federation
On December 1, after an explosion, a fire broke out at the "Polystyrol-Stroy" factory in Yekaterinburg. The factory produced, among other things, "ecofoam" - a thermal insulation material used by Russian occupiers at the front to conceal themselves from thermal imaging. Additionally, components for drones used against Ukraine were manufactured there.
