President Vladimir Zelensky has signed a decree appointing Olga Reshetilova (Kobylinska) as the commissioner of the President of Ukraine for the protection of the rights of servicemen and their families.

"Olga is a well-known, experienced, and effective Ukrainian human rights advocate. She has already accomplished much for the development of our state institutions and for supporting Ukrainians," commented the head of state on the appointment.

As Zelensky noted, the main task now is to work with the Ministry of Defense and civil society to prepare a draft law on a military ombudsman and all necessary systemic foundations for the operation of this institution.

"Our soldiers must receive effective tools to protect their rights, and there should be a real modernization of the management of personnel in the Defense Forces of Ukraine. I am grateful to everyone who is assisting in this," the president concluded.
