Journalists from the YouTube project "In the Shade of the Chestnut" have analyzed the capital's budget
For the first time in Kyiv's history, a surplus budget for the city has been adopted. To find out how the funds will be allocated, watch the latest episode of the YouTube project "In the Shade of the Chestnut".
Specifically, the journalists found that the main financial document of the capital anticipates an increase in funding for the Kyiv City Council Secretariat: in 2025, over 487 million UAH is planned for this purpose, compared to 394.34 million UAH this year. This means an increase of over 90 million UAH.
At the same time, the activities of the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA) will cost the residents 917.184 million UAH. For comparison, last year this amount was 879.34 million UAH.
Additionally, nearly 32.4 billion UAH is earmarked for healthcare, with a similar amount allocated for education, and over 7 billion UAH directed towards housing and communal services.
Almost 10 billion UAH is designated for social protection of Kyiv residents, of which 8.059 billion UAH will be allocated for the Department of Social and Veteran Policy of the KCSA for the first time.
The Child and Family Service is proposed to receive only 214.199 million UAH. The Department of Culture will receive 2.045 billion UAH from the budget, with the largest expenditures from this amount going to theaters (645.204 million UAH), museums, and exhibitions (442.062 million UAH).
Meanwhile, the Department of Youth and Sports will have a budget of 1.629 billion UAH.
