This morning, due to a technical malfunction, payment by bank card was temporarily unavailable at the turnstiles of some stations on the "red" metro line.
This was reported by the Kyiv Metro administration at 8:48 AM.
The affected stations are from "Akademmistechko" to "Vokzalna."
From "Universytet" station to "Lisova," the turnstiles on the "blue" and "green" lines are operating normally.
Passengers can pay for their ride using: a transport card; a QR code generated in the Kyiv Digital app (https://kyiv.digital/start); or a paper QR ticket.
All other payment methods are functioning as usual.
Metro specialists are working to resolve the issue.
They promise to provide further updates on the restoration of contactless payment by bank card.
Social media reports indicate that large queues have formed due to the non-functioning terminals. Taxi drivers are not wasting any time.
Meanwhile, as of nine in the morning, there is no information regarding this emergency event on the official website of the Kyiv City State Administration or on Mayor Klitschko's Facebook page.
