At least $600 million is needed for the first phase of the work
Capital repairs are required for 600 out of 2,600 kilometers of the capital's heat supply networks.
This was reported during a broadcast of Vechir.LIVE by Oleg Popenko, head of the Union of Consumers of Utility Services.
According to him, at least $600 million is required for the first phase of these repair works.
Popenko also noted that in 2024, only six or seven buildings underwent capital repairs in Kyiv, whereas 120,000 buildings actually need it, as they have already exceeded their operational lifespan.
“A complete thermal modernization of buildings is necessary to reduce heat consumption by 30-40%. This is real work and care for the average Kyiv resident,” the expert concluded.
