Nearly 40 thousand families have been waiting for years to receive their apartments
The Kyiv City Council approved a recapitalization of the Kyivmiskbud JSC amounting to 2.56 billion hryvnias.
During the plenary meeting on Thursday, October 30, 77 deputies voted in favor of this decision.
The funds allocated for the recapitalization are primarily intended for the completion of 24 residential complexes located throughout Kyiv. Due to the halt in construction at these sites, nearly 40 thousand families have been unable to receive the apartments they have already paid for.
1Simultaneously, a large-scale rally of investors took place outside the Kyiv City State Administration, demanding that the City Council address the issues related to the unfinished projects of Kyivmiskbud.
23“This issue affects over 40 thousand families, a third of whom are servicemen who defended Kyiv in the early days, protecting the region and all of us, and who are currently safeguarding Ukraine's borders. They are appealing to you in their video messages: ‘My family is here, give us hope, provide us with housing. We are not asking for social housing; we have invested in our own homes,’” reminded Tatiana Smiian, a representative of the investors, while speaking in the session hall.
Additionally, the Kyiv City Council decided to appeal to the Cabinet of Ministers regarding the funding of 2.28 billion hryvnias for the projects of the Ukrbud company owned by Maksym Mykytas, which were transferred to Kyivmiskbud in 2019 and remain unfinished to this day.
