Buses are falling behind schedule in the general traffic flow

Residents of the capital are urging the city authorities to allocate a dedicated lane for public transport on Khreshchatyk.

A corresponding petition has been posted on the Kyiv City Council's website regarding this issue.

The authors of the initiative explain that Khreshchatyk is a crucial transportation artery in Kyiv, but public transport is forced to navigate through the general flow of vehicles, which often leads to traffic jams and consistently results in delays. As a result, passengers cannot rely on it.

In contrast, the signatories of the document point out that the European model of urban development prioritizes public transport over private vehicles. Therefore, Kyiv, whose authorities claim the city is moving towards Europe, must adhere to these priorities.

Thus, the residents emphasize that to improve the adherence to the schedules for buses on routes 110, 111, 112, 114, as well as for trolleybuses on routes 4, 5, 7, 8, it is essential to designate the outer lanes of Khreshchatyk for public transport.

It is worth noting that residents are calling on the city hall to resume work on extending the Borshchahivka fast tram to the "Palace of Sports" metro station and Sports Square.
