Citizens have outlined the advantages of the innovation

Residents of the capital are urging the city authorities to implement a unified ticket for all types of public transport in Kyiv.

The relevant petition has been posted on the Kyiv City Council's website.

The authors of the initiative explain that a unified ticket allows users to access all forms of public transport without needing to purchase separate tickets or paper receipts for each one. Additionally, with a unified ticket, passengers will be able to make multiple transfers within the ticket's validity period without paying for each individual trip. This will help optimize transportation costs and allow for the selection of the most convenient routes.

At the same time, citizens are convinced that a single ticket accounting system will accurately determine the number of passengers using the transport and monitor revenue for the budget. This will reduce the risk of fare evasion and promote a fair distribution of budget funds.

Moreover, the signatories believe that flexible options for the unified ticket should be introduced to meet various passenger needs: tickets for 1 hour, 12 hours, 24 hours, a week, a month, 3 months, 6 months, and a year. This will allow users to choose the optimal tariff based on their frequency of transport use.

“The introduction of a unified ticket with flexible options for all types of transport and its integration into the 'Kyiv Digital' app will be an important step towards creating an efficient, transparent, and modern public transport system that provides convenient and accessible conditions for residents and visitors of the capital, meeting global standards,” the authors of the appeal emphasized.

As a reminder, civic activists have pointed out that a new rapid tram station with a peculiar name "Naari" has unexpectedly appeared in the capital.
