As reported by the Telegram channel Kасhtan NEWS, today Vitali Klitschko, who concurrently serves as the head of the Kyiv City Council and the head of the KMDA, accused the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenkо, in his address to the President of Ukraine, of exerting pressure on local self-government and attempting to usurp power.
This occurred after Timur Tkachenkо, appointed as the head of the KMVA on December 31, 2024, initiated a series of decisions aimed at combating corruption within the city government and implementing transparency in its operations.
Consequently, the response from the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenkо, to the city mayor's address came swiftly. He recorded a video statement against the backdrop of a residential building on Zhylianska Street that was destroyed three years ago by Russian attacks.
“A very strange statement from the city mayor, Vitali Klitschko. Apparently, the mayor is not aware of what is currently happening in the capital,” noted Timur Tkachenkо. “Behind me is a building on Zhylianska Street. This is a historical structure of the city. For three years, the building has not been restored, and there are no decisions on what to do with this property. There are many more such buildings in the city than just this one. Many Kyivans are genuinely waiting for help from the city authorities after the Russian strikes. Even burned cars from the shelling were only recently removed, and certainly not after the mayor's decisions.”
Timur Tkachenkо also shared that he had a working conversation with Vitali Klitschko, particularly regarding the priorities of the Kyiv City Military Administration's activities.
“But what I saw in response was not assistance in work, but accusations. Empty accusations,” emphasized the head of the KMVA. “Therefore, the military administration will do for Kyivans what the city council cannot do. I am not inclined to stage political shows like those who have been working in the city government for many years. We will address the city's issues and assist the residents of Kyiv.”
