Officials are unable to reach a consensus
The city council has once again gathered its thoughts and decided to lease the Zhitniy Market located in the capital's Podil district.
This was reported by KCSA.
“At the meeting, we approved the draft decision developed by the group regarding new terms for leasing the Zhitniy Market as a single property complex,” said KCSA Deputy Head Valentyn Mondryiisky.
He believes that this decision will ensure the effective use of municipal property in the interests of the Kyiv community, as well as guarantee the preservation of both the Zhitniy Market building and its functions.
Conversely, the city hall is convinced that privatizing the market poses a risk. After all, five years post-auction, the law allows the owner to change the building's intended use without restrictions.
Recall that in early April of this year, the KCSA had already halted the auction for leasing the Zhitniy Market.
