The structure was built over half a century ago
Starting today and continuing until the end of the year, repairs will be carried out on the overpass on Novokostyantynivska Street, which will result in limited traffic movement.
This information is reported by Kyivavtodor Municipal Corporation.
“From February 12, traffic will be restricted on Novokostyantynivska Street — on the section from Koralna Street to Vikentiy Khvoyka Street,” the municipal workers stated.
According to the road workers, this overpass was put into operation in 1969, and it has not undergone any major repairs since then.
As noted by Kyivavtodor, the entire range of work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. During this period, road workers plan to install a new bridge deck, new span structures, and support structures. They will also set up new railing and barrier fences, lighting supports, and road surface on the approaches. Underground and above-ground utilities will be upgraded, and landscaping of the area will be taken care of.
“The work will be carried out in phases to maintain traffic flow on the overpass,” the road workers assured.
As a reminder, Kyiv Metro is looking for a developer for the design documentation for the capital repairs to strengthen the main structures (linings) of the tunnel sections on the 1st main track between the “Zoloti Vorota” and “Lukyanivska” stations on the Syretsko-Pecherska line.
