Last year, 729 violations of freight transportation regulations were recorded in the capital
On the weekend of January 11-12, enhanced checks of oversized vehicles were conducted on the streets of Kyiv.
The measures were carried out by the State Transport Safety Service and the Patrol Police under the coordination of the head of the Kyiv Military Administration, Timur Tkachенко.
“The issue of overloaded trucks is critical for the condition of the capital's roads. Vehicles that disregard dimensional and weight norms cause significant damage to the infrastructure, for the repair of which substantial budget funds are spent annually. In many cases, the deterioration of road conditions is not due to materials or the quality of work, but rather to violations of operational standards,” – wrote Timur Tkachенко on his Telegram channel.
According to the State Transport Safety Service, as reported by the head of the military administration, 729 violations in freight transportation were recorded in Kyiv in 2024. Meanwhile, 54 cases involved international transport, 537 were related to domestic transport, 138 violations concerned exceeding weight parameters, and another 122 cases involved the use of blocking devices.
Additionally, last year, 861 violations in international and domestic passenger transportation were recorded in the capital.
“This is not just about financial losses, but also about passenger safety. Non-compliance with standards poses a real threat to the lives and health of people,” – emphasized Timur Tkachенко, highlighting that enhanced checks should become a regular practice in Kyiv.
