Despite the resistance from the city authorities, a working group on "Transparency and Accountability" has been established in the capital under the directive of the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko.
Today, February 12, the head of the KMA reported this, emphasizing:
“We continue to work towards making the management processes in Kyiv more transparent, effective, and balanced.”
Tymur Tkachenko announced that “the first meeting of this group will take place soon, with the goal of ensuring transparency in the use of community resources, adherence to anti-corruption legislation by the city authorities, particularly the Law of Ukraine on ‘Preventing Corruption,’ as well as preventing, detecting, and resolving conflicts of interest.”
The group will pay special attention to the legality of the activities of landowners and users of land plots in Kyiv.
The head of the KMA asserts:
“The issue of alienating the capital's land is particularly pressing. The task of the ‘Transparency and Accountability’ group is to put an end to ‘toilet’ and other schemes through which Kyiv loses valuable land, resulting in the capital budget missing out on millions of dollars. We already have a list of problematic sites and are working to ensure they do not fall into dishonest hands.”
Tymur Tkachenko expects effective measures from the group to enhance the efficiency and transparency of the use of Kyiv’s resources.
