The implementation of the ambitious project will take place in several stages

The National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy has initiated the implementation of a project aimed at achieving energy independence.

This was reported by the press service of the educational institution.

“The goal of this project is to ensure the continuity of the educational process, as well as the stable operation of all university departments, even in the event of power outages,” the statement reads.

Specifically, within the framework of the first stage of the project, the installation of a hybrid solar power plant, battery storage systems, and a backup power generator is planned, which will fully supply the second student campus with energy. The completion of this stage is scheduled for February 2025.

The Academy is confident that these innovations will help avoid blackouts that complicate the university's operations and hinder a quality educational process.

It is worth noting that Kyiv has decided to allocate over 10.6 million UAH for the restoration and increase of energy efficiency of the Lesya Ukrainka National Academic Drama Theater.
