Kyiv residents have repeatedly emphasized the need to preserve the monument

The Advisory Council at the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection of the Kyiv City State Administration has approved the restoration concept for the Lapyńska estate, located at 60 Olesa Honchar Street, which was built in the early 20th century.

According to the Department's announcement on its social media page.

It is important to note that this address is home to a monument of local architectural significance.

As reported by the staff of the Department of Cultural Heritage Protection, the first phase of the building's restoration will involve facade repairs to restore the original appearance of this unique architectural structure.

Experts indicate that the Lapyńska estate features neo-Gothic characteristics and harmoniously blends with the surrounding landscape. The building is known for its historical significance, as it was the tallest structure in Kyiv at the time of its construction.

In this context, it is worth reminding that city activists and local residents have consistently drawn the attention of the city authorities to the necessity of preserving this building.

Recall that an unexpected twist occurred in the story of the demolition of a 100-year-old retaining wall by employees of "Kyivzelenbud" at the corner of Chekhov Lane and Bulvarno-Kudriavska Street: it turned out that the municipal workers lack funds to clean the old bricks in order to restore the monument.
