A wave of rising transportation costs is sweeping through Ukraine's cities

If the price for passenger transportation by private minibuses increases, it is unlikely that we will see an improvement in the quality of service for passengers in Kyiv.

This conclusion was made by analysts from the Public Organization "Passengers of Kyiv".

“Private carriers in Kyiv are currently maintaining a fare of 15 hryvnias. However, issues with minibuses are worsening. How long this will continue is unknown. The last fare increase for minibuses in Kyiv occurred in May 2022,” said transport experts.

Unfortunately, they noted, should the fare for capital carriers rise, we do not anticipate improvements in transportation quality, an increase in the number and capacity of buses, or even the introduction of cashless payment options with official payment confirmations.

According to representatives of the public organization, currently, in some regional centers of the country, the fare for minibuses has risen to 20—25 hryvnias.

Let us remind you, Kyiv residents are urging the city authorities to create a system for passengers to track the movement and approach of route taxis to the desired stop in real-time, similar to what is available for public transport.
