A Georgian UFC champion who supports Ukraine will participate in a Russian show.

Georgian UFC fighter Merab Dvalishvili, who competes in the bantamweight division, has taken on the role of coach in the new season of the Russian reality show HYPE Global Reality.

Merab Dvalishvili will join the project champion alongside another coach – UFC fighter Petr Yan from Russia.

Dvalishvili announced his participation through social media, sharing a poster of the show.

It is worth noting that the format of HYPE Global Reality resembles the popular show The Ultimate Fighter: two teams of beginners compete under the guidance of experienced mentors to determine the strongest.

Currently, it is unclear where the filming of the show will take place. It is likely to be outside of Russia. The reality show HYPE Global Reality is sponsored by a well-known Russian betting company.

In 2023, Dvalishvili faced Yan in the octagon during the UFC Fight Night tournament. At that time, the Georgian secured a victory by unanimous decision.

Remember, right after the fight with the Russian, Merab publicly expressed his support for Ukraine.
