A renowned Ukrainian blogger has died in an accident: what is known about the crash
A terrible car accident occurred in Poltava region on Friday, January 24. A vehicle collided with a truck parked on the roadside. Reports online indicate that the well-known blogger Anna Zhuk, known as Annet, lost her life in the accident on the Kharkiv-Kyiv highway. She left behind three small children.
On January 24, the famous Kharkiv blogger Anna Zhuk (Annet) died in a car accident on the Kharkiv-Kyiv highway. This was reported by blogger Zhenya Zub on his Telegram channel, where he published a video featuring the wrecked Lexus belonging to the Zhuk family.
According to the blogger, Anna's husband was driving the vehicle. He attempted an overtaking maneuver in violation of traffic rules on the right lane and collided with a parked truck.
As a result of the accident, Anna died at the scene, and one of her sons sustained injuries.
The information regarding the blogger's death was confirmed by the cooperation manager Evgeniya.
"I deeply sympathize with Anna's family and loved ones. She was an incredible person who made the world a kinder place every day. Such people leave behind a light that never fades. May her good deeds live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Strength and support to the family in this difficult time," she wrote online.
Later, the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Poltava region confirmed the details of the accident. Law enforcement officials noted that the traffic incident took place on January 24 around 08:40 at the 209-kilometer mark of the Kyiv-Kharkiv-Dovzhansky highway, not far from the village of Zasulye in the Lubny territorial community.
According to preliminary investigation information, the Lexus, driven by a 1999-born driver, collided with a stationary Renault Premium truck located outside the roadway.
"As a result of the accident, the 39-year-old female passenger of the Lexus SUV died from her injuries at the scene. The drivers of both the truck (born in 1983) and the SUV, as well as a minor passenger in the Lexus (born in 2015), were hospitalized with injuries at the Lubny intensive care hospital," police detailed.
Law enforcement has initiated a criminal proceeding under the article concerning traffic rule violations. Investigators from the Main Directorate of Police in Poltava, in conjunction with the prosecutor's office, are establishing the exact circumstances and causes of the tragedy.
Who was Anna Zhuk
Anna Zhuk was a well-known Kharkiv blogger and mother of three sons. She actively shared moments of her life on social media, particularly on Instagram, where she had over 370,000 followers.
Anna was actively involved in projects supporting women, conducted workshops and training sessions, and was often featured as a guest in interviews and podcasts. The blogger received a distinction "For Assistance to the Army" from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Friends' Reactions
The sudden death of the influencer shocked many of her followers and friends. Blogger and entrepreneur Denis Povetkin noted that Zhuk reminded him of his mother. He added that he was supposed to be traveling with her that fateful day.
"I can't believe it, Anya..." the businessman wrote.
Blogger Anna Alkhim also expressed disbelief over her friend's death.
"Please tell me this is a joke," she wrote in her stories.
Blogger Oleg Mashukovsky remarked: "I'm just in shock... Anna was an incredible person."
