An 8-year-old boy tragically died while riding an ATV in the Lviv region.

In the village of Zavadka, Lviv region, an 8-year-old boy died as a result of a traffic accident.

This was reported by the press service of the regional police on Monday, January 20.

The traffic accident occurred on the evening of January 19 in the village of Zavadka, Stryi district. The driver of the quad bike, a 38-year-old resident of the area, lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn and fall into the river.

The passenger of the quad bike, an 8-year-old boy, succumbed to his injuries in the ambulance. The driver sustained bodily injuries and was hospitalized.

Following the violation of road safety rules, investigators have opened a criminal case. The man faces imprisonment for a term of three to eight years, along with a potential ban on driving for up to three years or without such a ban.
