A Toyota veered onto the sidewalk and knocked down a fence after colliding with a taxi in central Mykolaiv.

On the morning of Saturday, February 8, at the intersection of Bolshaya Morskaya Street and Vadim Blagovestny (Nikolska) in Mykolaiv, vehicles Toyota RAV4 and Hyundai Sonata collided.

This was reported by a correspondent from "Novosti-N" at the scene of the incident.

The "Toyota" was traveling on Nikolska Street from the direction of Artillery Street. The "Hyundai" was heading along Bolshaya Morskaya Street from the Varvarovsky Bridge towards Arkasovska Street (Pushkinska). At the intersection, the vehicles collided, and after the impact, the "Toyota" veered onto the sidewalk and knocked down a metal fence.

As a result of the accident, no injuries were reported initially, though the vehicles sustained mechanical damage.

Traffic at this intersection is regulated by a traffic light, which was operational at the time of the accident. According to eyewitnesses, the "Toyota" ran a "red" light, but final conclusions will be drawn by the investigation.

Eyewitnesses also informed the correspondent that the "Hyundai" involved in the accident was a taxi, and the vehicle was promptly towed from the crash site.
