On the morning of Wednesday, February 12, a collision occurred at the intersection of Central Avenue and Sadovaya Street in Nikolaev between a Fiat Ducato ambulance and an Opel Vectra passenger car.
This information was reported by a correspondent from “Novosti-N” at the scene.
The ambulance was traveling along the avenue from Engineering Street towards 3rd Slobodskaya Street. At the intersection, the minibus collided with the Opel, which was moving along Sadovaya Street from Igor Bedzaya Street (Chkalova) towards Bolshaya Morskaya Street.
No one was injured in the accident, but both vehicles sustained significant mechanical damage.
The accounts of the incident from the drivers differ significantly. The Opel driver claims that he started moving on a green traffic light, while the minibus “ran through” on red. According to him, the ambulance driver activated the emergency lights — siren and flashing beacons — only after the accident occurred.
The ambulance driver told our correspondent that he was driving with the emergency lights on and passed through the intersection on a yellow light.
The police will make the final determination regarding the cause of the accident.
