The driver of the Infiniti involved in a fatal accident in Mykolaiv has been sent to a pre-trial detention center.
On Saturday, January 25, a 32-year-old driver of an Infiniti, who was responsible for a deadly accident on Myra Avenue in Mykolaiv, had a preventive measure imposed.
This was reported by the police of the Mykolaiv region.
The court has remanded the man in custody for a period of 60 days without the possibility of bail.
As a result of the accident, a 69-year-old female passenger of a VAZ died at the scene. The 74-year-old driver of the same vehicle passed away in the ambulance.
On January 24, investigators detained the 32-year-old Infiniti driver under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and informed him of the suspicion of committing a crime as stipulated in Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of transport by persons driving vehicles, resulting in the death of several people.”
The suspect faces up to ten years in prison and a driving ban of up to three years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
