The Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration fatally struck a cyclist
An employee of the Kherson Regional State Administration fatally hit a cyclist on February 26.
This was reported by the police of the Kherson region.
Around 6:00 PM, an accident occurred in Posad-Pokrovskoye, resulting in the death of a 50-year-old man.
"While traveling on the M-14 highway 'Odessa - Melitopol - Novoazovsk,' he collided with a cyclist who had exited from a secondary road and crossed the roadway," the statement said.
As a result of the incident, the cyclist sustained injuries that were incompatible with life. Investigators from the regional police are working at the scene of the accident. The vehicle has been seized and placed in a towing lot.
A criminal case has been initiated under part 2 of article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine for violating traffic safety rules, which resulted in the death of the victim.
According to the publication MOST, citing sources in law enforcement and the regional state administration, the driver was Vladimir Klyutsevsky, the Deputy Head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
